Cross Country Training Has Begun!

June 4, 2009 – GCA’s new Cross Country Program is off to a “roaring” start! Nineteen runners crawled out of bed to join Coach Julie Harris and Coach Elizabeth Simmons for the 6:30 a.m. training sessions at the YMCA. Participants during the initial week included: Brock Bailey, Sydnee Harrell, Ladson Simmons, Caylin Walsingham, Melissa Mills, Merrianna Parker, Shellby Woodrum, Kelsey Harrell, Kyle Harris, Bryce McQuaid, Paul Randall Soden, Jackson Harrell, Bo Bailey, Aaron Carraway, Josh Carnes, Chase Harris, Austin McQuaid, Alex Ward, and Brent Warr. Caylin, Kyle, Aaron, Josh and Chase led the way with perfect attendance for the entire week. Training will resume again on Monday while plans are being made for the teams’ inaugural Fall 2009 season.
